This year had terrible weather, but students and their families still showed up to compete. We had a very large contest and it took over a hundred judges and volunteers to make the day happen. One judge remarked, “the competition was fierce,” because there were so many quality projects to choose from.

Arkansas Regions have grown, and we added a new Region 6 this year, hosted at Ouachita Baptist. About 4000 students started History Day this year, and about 340 advanced to the State contest. By the end of the contest that number was down to 65 students who will represent Arkansas at the National contest starting June 8th at the University of Maryland.

Congratulations to all participants and thank you to everyone who gave their time to make the day happen!
