What:  History Day Workshop with guest speakers

When: Thursday, July 20, 2023, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Where: Old State House Museum, 300 W Markham St, Little Rock, AR 72201

Who: 6-12th grade Social Studies, GT, English, Drama, Literacy, and Technology teachers and school Librarians.

What: An engaging day at the Old State House Museum.  You will hear from Arkansas History Day, the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia, the Old State House, and the Arkansas Humanities Council. 

You will learn how your school can get involved in NHD and why it is not just for History classes.  Learn how this program allows students to shine and build confidence through performances, papers, exhibits, websites, and documentaries. National History Day also meets Literacy frameworks and offers students the opportunity to strengthen their skills in research, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.  You will learn about this year’s theme, Grant opportunities, Old State House resources and turning points in Asian History. Up to 6 hours of Arkansas Professional Development credits will be available for attending the workshop.
